What kind of products does The Dotting Chick sell?

The Dotting Chick specializes in selling unique pieces of art that consist of a vinyl record that is painted in the mandala style. The artist listens to the music while painting that piece to channel the music into the art. Our store offers a must-have collection for any music lover looking to decorate their walls or give a gift of beautifully painted albums and original covers.

How long does it take to paint an album?

This is the number one question I get. It takes 8-10 hours to paint, then I need to seal and frame so each LP takes approximately 12 hours.

Do you use a template or stencil?

No, all the designs are free hand with no tools or lines drawn on the album.

How do you come up with the designs?

We listen to the music of the album as we paint. The only thing planned in advance are the colors. The design is magical because it creates itself as the art is inspired by the music.

How long will it take for a custom order?

The amount of time a custom order takes depends on how many orders I currently have. If you are interested in placing a custom order, please let me know if there is a specific date it needs to be completed by, and I will inform you of your position in the queue and do what I can to accommodate your request.
